Welcome to DerekWeaver.com. In this video, we will discuss receiving, unpacking, and assembling your 890 Series tire changer. Your W-890 Series tire changer will arrive in a crate similar to this crate. It is important that you inspect the crate for damage prior to signing the delivery receipt and notate any damage on the delivery receipt. When the crate arrives, it will have an address label, a white warning label that tells you, the receiver, to inspect the crate for damage before signing the delivery receipt, an orange warning label that tells the freight company to handle the package with care, and a green warning label to tell us the freight company this piece of freight should not be double-stacked.
Begin unpackaging the crate by undoing the 14 tabs that hold the top of the crate to the skid. Now, remove the top of the crate from the skid. You may need assistance with this step. Once you've removed the top of the crate, you can remove the remainder of the packaging material.
Once the packaging is removed, you can remove your tool tray and your accessory box, and then you can cut the zip tie that holds the tower to the chassis of the machine. The tower is kind of heavy. Remove it. Set it to the side. Now we can unbolt the tire changer from the skid. Now you can remove the tire changer from its skid and place it in the desired location. Once you have removed the tire changer from the skid and placed it in its desired location, we recommend installing the tower.
Begin the installation of the tower by removing the six bolts that hold the tower to the chassis and the four Allen bolts that hold the tool tray to the chassis. Prior to placing the tower on the chassis, take notice of the two fittings screwed into the bottom of the tower. Be careful not to damage those fittings when placing the tower on the chassis. Now we will place the tower on the chassis. You will need help for this step. Once the tower is placed on the chassis, align the holes and install the bolts. The four front bolts are shoulder bolts and the two rear bolts are fully threaded. Once you have them all installed, you can tighten them with a 19 millimeter socket.
You will now install the total tray around the tower. Align the holes and reinstall the four previously removed Allen bolts and tighten them with a 5 millimeter Allen wrench.
Now we will install the return spring for the demount head. Grab the bottom of the demount head, release the lock for the hex bar, release the hex bar to its highest position, and relock the hex bar. Remove the plastic cap from the top of the hex bar (it uses an 8 millimeter Allen wrench). Place the spring over the hex bar. You have to compress the spring to reinstall the plastic cap using the 8 millimeter Allen wrench.
Now we will install the horizontal swing arm adjustment to the left side of the tower.
Now we will install the pressure gauge and the Popoff valve on the left side of the tire.
Now we will mount the inflation box on the left side of the tower.
Use the 5 millimeter Allen wrench to tighten.
Now we will install the inflation box feed by plugging it into the 90-degree fitting on the back of the machine.
Now we're going to remove the side panel of the machine using a 5 millimeter Allen wrench. Once the side panel is removed, we can complete the installation of the tower by plugging the two 12 millimeter hoses into the bottom of the tower. It does not matter which hose goes into which fitting.
Now install your preferred quick disconnect in the regulator.
We recommend running air to the machine at this point to verify there are no leaks and check the machine functionality prior to reinstalling the side panel.
Now that you have verified the machine has no air leaks, you can complete the installation of the tower by removing the packaging material from the demount head and removing the packaging material from the swingarm and loosening the swingarm nut with the 24 millimeter combination wrench to allow the swing arm just swing freely.
Now you can install the lube bucket bracket on the right hand side of the machine and place the lube bucket in the lube bucket bracket.
You can now reinstall the side panel using a 5 millimeter Allen wrench. Your 890 Series tire changer comes with the following accessories: a lube swab, 20-inch tire tools. 4 clamp protectors for outside clamping, and two different styles of duck head protector. There's one of these long protectors pre-installed on the trailing edge of the duck head here. This protector can be used to replace the steel roller located here. Replace the steel roller by removing the Allen set screws with 3 millimeter Allen. Place the plastic protector in its place and reinstall the set screw. Your W-890 Series tire changer is now assembled and ready for use.

W-MC/ATV Adapter for Weaver® Tire Changers Transcription
Welcome to DerekWeaver.com. In this video, we’re going to show the components of the W-MC/ATV motorcycle adapter and the assembly of the W-MC/ATV motorcycle adapter using the W-894 XS tire changer.
The W-MC/ATV motorcycle adapter consists of four clamp adapters. The purpose of each adapter is to raise the bed of the table and to allow you to offset the clamp to increase or decrease the clamping range of the tire changer.
In the first installation, the adapters are installed so the offset increases the wheel clamping range. When you install the adapter, the center ground stop goes inside the clamp here. Insert the camshaft and push down. Once you have the adapter installed, make sure that the opening for the clamp is towards the center of the table, as these 4 are showing.
In the second installation, the adapter is installed so the clamp decreases the wheel clamping range. When you install the clamp, the center around the stock here is installed inside the clamp here. You place the camshaft in the back of the adapter and push down. Make sure that the clamp opening is towards the center of the table as these 4 are showing.

Weaver® W-PL240 Assist Arm Installation/Assembly Transcription
Hello and welcome to DerekWeaver.com. In this video, we'll be covering the installation of the PL-240 assist arm. Before the installation begins, it would be a good idea to familiarize yourself with the individual components of the PL-240. This is the base of the PL 240 and the collar. This is the swing arm, cylinder, cylinder extension, accessory mount, upper, and lower roller arms, and these are your centering cones and your hardware.
The first step of the installation is the correct positioning of the base. The base would be positioned like this and held in place by four 18 millimeter bolts. Make sure that the welded tabs are facing to the rear. Do not tighten anything yet; leave everything hand tight.
For the next step of the installation, we want to make sure that the base is still loose. We'll tighten it in the end when we do the finishing, when we center the swing arm, but for now, the next step is to put the collar in place, and It has a little notch. This notch is going to go upward and this tab is going to go between the welded tabs. And, this bolt is going to go all the way through with the washer lock washer and nut on the back side. Before putting the swingarm in place, we recommend that you bolt the control unit in place and next, temporarily install the cylinder extension rod.
The next step is to set the swingarm onto the bike. After the swing arm’s in position, put the keeper washer and bolt in the top and also the arm stop bolt will go in position here.
We'll be using air for the rest of the install so we'll go ahead and hook it up here at the regulator bringing the line down from the PL-240. Release the air line from the regulator by pressing up on the blue collar, put the T in place with the short line supply. After hooking up our air, we need to hook up our control valve for our cylinder. The longer top air line goes to the bottom fitting here on the control and the short one goes to the top fitting, and all you have to do for these quick-release fittings is just push the holes in and then give it a little tug and you should be good. And then verify that your control valve works in the right direction. If you get these reversed, then the control valve will be working the opposite way. You also want to check the unlock button for the swingarm. That's what this button does and it allows the swing arm to move out of the way. There's an air actuator right here. When you press the button, it releases that air actuator.
The next step is to center the cylinder of the PL-240 with the center of the turn plate and that's done by using one of the longer accessories. Clip it in place and bring it down. Now, you'll use the slotted screws on the base to bring this into position and then slowly tighten up the bolts. Once you have the four bolts tight that hold the base from sliding forward and rearward, you can use this tab bolt in the back to slowly help center the cone with the center of the turn plate. Once you have it in place, tighten the nut. Once you've adjusted and tightened these bolts and this bolt to fine-tune your center, you want to tighten this bolt down against a flat edge of the collar, and then also tighten this bolt to help hold the collar in place.
Once we've centered the cylinder, the next step would be to remove the accessory and then you might want to prop this cylinder up a little bit while you remove this extension.
And the final step, you're going to mount the extension back in the cylinder. You're going to have to relieve the tension on this pin and put it here. And, this may require two people to install.
The final step is to mount your accessory bracket here on the back. You use the two bolts that hold the quick exhaust valve inside to mount it and I suggest you take one loose and put it through one hole on the bracket, so that your valve doesn't fall out inside, then take the second one loose.
