Well built and easy to assemble

Posted by Donald Shatzer on 9th Apr 2022

I ordered this lift after doing research on different brands. This lift arrived in three business days, Well packed, no damage. Very easy to install. Quality looking product. Four hour assembly time, if you are mechanically inclined the instructions are not needed but for torque specs. Would highly recommend for tight spaces. I can lift with confidence my 1965 Ford Falcon and walk under and I am 6 foot 3.Definatly glad I found Derek Weavers website.

    Weaver® W9K Baseplate 2 Post Auto Lift

Posted by Gary Brown on 8th Oct 2020

I am very pleased with the lift. Once I got it installed, it operated nicely. The instructions for installing are terrible. It takes some time to install, when it wouldn't with better instruction. The electrical hookup was not clear. Fortunately, Weaver had a video on the electrical connection on their website.

Very happy with lift! Easy to set up and operate. Only suggestion would be better instructions concerning safety cable and catchess and also bigger electrical box. VERY tight with recommended wire size.

    Excellent product

Posted by JC Slama on 11th Feb 2020

I would highly recommend this lift. I researched a lot of reviews and other brands prior to making my purchase. Looking into dimensions, capabilities, certifications, watching numerous you tube videos, talking to others that have lifts, and got to say this lift has it all. I put it right to the test with a couple of my trucks (2000 reg cab and 2014 crew cab, both Silverado 1500’s). Worked flawlessly. I like that it came with all the adaptors for various vehicles. The installation instructions were a bit vague but I installed mine with no issues over the weekend. It’s built heavy. I also have previously purchased a tire machine and balancer from Derek Weaver. Very impressed with all. I use my equipment a lot and couldn’t be happier with the quality. Everything has been packaged very well, the shipping company extremely friendly and easy to work with. I have called customer service and they are awesome to talk to, no hassles. Don’t wait like I did, should’ve bought this a long time ago, well worth the money.

    Good product for the $

Posted by James Benskin on 25th Nov 2019

To start off, 5 star reviews from me are very rare. This may be long but it will be thorough and honest. The customer service from Weaver was great. They answered questions in a timely manner and were quick to ship. As far as the lift itself, the price is good for well built lift. This isn't a high dollar lift with tons of bells and whistles but they also aren't charging you for one. It is a safe lift that does the job as advertised. So now on to the shipping. The shipping was free and fast. The shipping company had great communication and the drivers were polite. However, they did scratch the bottom where it was impossible to see before removing it to install. Weaver provided a paint color and it looks "okay" but having something damaged when its brand new does suck. The point here is lift up the package when you get it and note the damage. Not a problem with Weaver or the lift. Now on to the reason for 4 stars. The installation instructions could be better. All measurements are in metric. I happened to have a metric tape measure from work and used it as opposed to converting. Some things aren't even covered in the instructions. For example there was no indication how much hydraulic fluid was needed. No instruction for how to level the lifting arms etc. If you buy this lift you will have to figure some things out on your own if it's after Weaver business hours. So 4 stars mostly because of the installation instructions. Would I buy it again? Absolutely. Will I buy from Weaver again? ABSOLUTELY!

Weaver w9k 2 post baseplate lift

Posted by Chris Yales on 14th May 2019

Hi I really like this lift I am a retired machine shop owner I looked a long time for a quality lift for a competitive price I believe I made the correct choice. This lift is well made. The lift looks more serviceable than all the other lifts I looked at. Also the build is a lot better done No sharp edges, no unfinished edges, Good welds, and great finish. Installation was easy for me. I had a few questions and weaver answered them immediately. I think weaver should have some close up pics to help with assembly. But I am very satisfied with this lift. Thank you

Packaged well fairly easy install, Only have used a few times but so far it seems to work great.I think it was the best option for my 10 foot ceiling limit. It still gives plenty of under carrage clearance verses a scissor type lift.

    *SHOCKING* It lifts cars

Posted by Joshua Lowe on 23rd Feb 2018

I was looking for a lift for my pole garage (24wx30dx9t). Originally I was settled on the Atlas BP8000 from Greg Smith but then I came across this one and I liked the red color. Did some research, asked some questions, found out they're both made by Peak lifts which are reputable and made by the same company that makes Rotary, Forward, Direct Lift and some others I think. Anyways, the shipping time was fantastic, literally 1 business day. I ordered it at 4pm Thursday, it shipped Friday and I had it on Monday. I delivered it to a local business I know that has a forklift. They loaded it on my trailer for me. It did come scuffed as some others mentioned but mine wasn't bad enough to complain about. I'm sure that if I called they'd hook me up with a little paint. Also, as others mentioned the instructions are garbage which is sad because if they were only slightly better it could easily shave off an hour or more of the install. As far as time goes, I did it all myself except standing the columns upright. Unloading took me forever because I don't have an engine hoist or a forklift. I got it off my small trailer one post/part at a time with some creatively stacked piles of wood and a 3ton floor jack. I would say 4 hours to unload, 4 hours to install and test. I did it over 2 different evenings after work. I also bought the cheapest SDS Plus drill on amazon and a dewalt 10 inch 3/4 sds plus bit. Worked wonders. If you're on the fence, this is a great machine as far as I can tell. I'm not sure if I can update this review in the following years but if I can I'll try.

Great lift at a great value

Posted by J. Mootz on 12th Feb 2018

I have had this lift for about 6 months. I’m a home / hobby mechanic and do not use a lift every day, so I didn’t want to spend a ton of money. It fits nicely under my 10 ft garage ceiling, still leaving plenty of room to scoot around under large vehicles on a roller stool. Customer service was great with Weaver Co. The freight company scratched the paint on one column really bad. Because the damage was on the bottom at the lifting point, I didn’t notice until I got it home. Not the fault of Weaver Co. I used the red touch up paint recommended and it is fine now. Installation was easy, but as previous posts say, the instruction manual is pretty bad. Nothing you can’t overcome if you are mechanically inclined. It’s not hard to figure it out. Measure twice, no, 3 times before drilling. After using for 6 months, I have to say I am very satisfied. This lift is very sturdy. I don’t think you can find better quality for the same price.

    Incredible Lift

Posted by Robert Bridenstine II and Carriage Customs on 8th Jan 2018

This is the best lift I have used by far in the 35 yrs that I have been in the tire business. It did get scratched up pretty bad on one post from forklifts moving it around during shipping that's about 3 feet long I didn't notice til I got it unpacked. Installed great in my custom shop. Will always buy Derek Weaver.

Best lift I've seen for the money

Posted by Joshua Senecal on 7th Sep 2017

I have done auto body work for a living for over 15 years so I've been around a lot of lifts. I shopped around and ordered this for my home garage and was pleasantly surprised when I unwrapped it to install. The quality of build, heavy duty materials, and little extras was equal to or above anything in any shop I have seen. From the bumpers to keep from damaging doors to the handle and trays on the lift arms, everyone who has worked on a lift has put lug nuts on the arm just to hear them roll onto the floor. I also have a friend with a equivalent northern tool lift that was as much if not more money than this and this one far surpasses that one. The detections are pretty terrible but nothing you shouldn't be able to figure out if you have the brain to be using any auto lift to do any real work. All in all I'm very happy with my purchase as long as longevity holds up, but I have no reason to expect it not to.

Great Lift. Easy install. Horrible instructions.

Posted by Steve Gardner on 21st Jul 2017

My son and I installed this lift in one day without any lifting equipment. We are both mechanics/very mechanical and pretty much ignored the instructions....because they are horrible. Not even a good translation. The good news is this very good lift is not difficult to install if you have a modicum of common sense and a bit of mechanical skill. Love it. And a real value! ;-)

This lift is awesome. Works flawlessly. Install was easy. My 17yo son and I had this installed in about 6 hours. 3 friends to help stand the columns. Very very impressed with customer service. Very helpful. Lift arrived to destination (outside Chicago) in 2 days. Exceptional quality. I would and do recommend this lift to anyone with low ceiling clearance or just wanting a lift. Overall, 100% satisfied customer. Thank you Derek Weaver. Why didn't I buy this years ago...

Wish I'd bought this long ago

    Posted by Falcon67 on 10th Jan 2017

Finally sprung for this lift after looking at a picture of it on the wall in the shop for a few years. Should have just done it. Easy enough to transport on a 18' flat bed car trailer, was able to unload it using some HF furniture dollies and an engine crane. Easy enough to install, not terribly technically difficult. I was able to raise the posts myself with just an engine crane. I used an HF hammer drill and a Bosch SDS bit from a home center - made quick work of the holes. If you have a "flat" floor you'll be mildly surprised how many shims you may need. There were plenty in the box for mine. I did mis-route the safety latch cable, but the hydraulics make short work of any errors so figured that noise out real quick. Just had to go buy a fresh length of wire rope and some terminations. Ran it up and down a few times to check adjustments, then put the 3000 lb 1970 Mustang on it and up it went. That car is a bugger to R&R headers on with a jack and floor stands - not anymore. Hey look, those header gaskets are leaking out the bottom. My ceiling is only 8' in the lift area so the posts actually stick up through the ceiling. Later I'll remove/modify the ceiling over the lift and even with a 5:12 rafter pitch I should be able to get our race cars up enough to walk under. Mustang now gets to 49" off the floor with about 3" to spare under the ceiling - just enough to get it off the locks. Can roll under the car on a short work stool. Great tool, treat yourself. Some install notes can be found here: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=100482&page=20

    Great Lift

Posted by Victor Mauk on 27th Jun 2016

Much like the previous reviews, the product is great. It works great right from the start, and looks great in my garage. I'm not a professional, just a guy lucky enough to be able to put a lift in my garage for my own use. Like the other reviews have stated, the instructions leave something to be desired, especially the routing of the cables (both the main lift cables, as well as the safety latch cable). This is mainly due to poor pictures in the included manual, which are not much better in the online PDF manual. Also, when you wire the unit (I hard-wired mine, with the power line coming down from the ceiling to the unit so keep the floor uncluttered), be sure to watch the online video about wiring it, versus using the instructions in the manual. I also had to fabricate a few additional shims out of large fender washers because I did not have enough using the shims that were provided. No big deal, they worked fine. I was able to install it with some help from my adult son (I picked it up on a 6' x 12' trailer), and once it was unpacked we moved it off by sliding it on some of the cardboard packing material. We were able to put the columns upright by lifting them up, but be advised, they are HEAVY. Two strong guys will work, three would have been better. Measure twice, then measure twice again, before drilling, and I used a laser to make sure they were square side to side. Once it was done, after a few practice runs (it comes down by relieving pressure so without a load it might take a while, or need some help), I put my Dodge Rame 2500 Diesel on it and it worked great, the truck adapters really coming in handy. On smaller vehicles, like my Miata, the asymmetric arms take a little planning. I find I have to pull the car forward, swing the front arms under and back, then back the car up to swing the rear arms in place. And the Lift Pads, even with the arms in the completely short position, are still too long, but it's not a problem if you simply put a block on the arm where you want to lift the car. If you don't work on small vehicles, probably not an issue. Overall, though, I do love it. It is nice to have the ability to do work on the vehicles without crawling around under it on my back. And with my ceiling being 12'6" high, I gave been able to lift my cars high enough that I can walk under them without ducking. I would recommend this lift without hesitation, and I can't wait to tackle the projects I have planned for with this lift in mind.

    Very good quality

Posted by Chris on 29th Aug 2015

Purchased the lift and it was delivered to Maine in 2 days. Installed the lift over a two day period. The lift appears to be of excellent quality with good welds and most of the hardware cad plated. My only gripe was the directions. The photographs are a bit vague and the text is poorly written. The poor directions required some rework do to the lack of clarity. Overall it operates perfectly. I have lifted everything from a Ford Fiesta to a F150 with no problems. If the directions were bit better 5 stars for sure.

Posted by Matt on 26th May 2015

Built a small garage to do vehicle maintenance as my house garage ceilings were too low to get a modern truck in. Decided early on to install a two post lift and though this lift was not the cheapest it is a great lift that does everything the company says and is made with high quality. installation was easy and have already used it for several vehicles. Next is the total restoration of a 37 ford. Great lift from a great company.

Good fit for the small garage

Posted by Allen, NC on 12th May 2015

Bought this model based more on ceiling clearance than price which was still very competitive. Once the unit was available, shipping and delivery was quick and efficient. Agree with others that the biggest hurdle for the DIYer will be the offload and tower handling. Once the towers were up, remainder of installation was straightforward. Be aware the routing diagram from the manufacturer for the hydraulic hose coming from the pump is wrong. It needs to go through the bottom of the tower, not around it. Also, fill cap for hydraulic reservoir is SMALL. Get one of those inexpensive orange transfer hand pumps. Trying to pour from a five gallon hydraulic fluid container into a small funnel will not turn out well. Still getting the hang of positioning the arms with height adapters for different vehicles but I'm still kicking myself for not getting one of these years ago.

    Best lift for the dollar

Posted by Bill, NC on 27th Oct 2014

I have only owned this lift for 2 weeks and so far I couldn't be more satisfied. Customer service was great during the order process. I picked it up some what locally (3 hr drive up). This thing on a pallet weighs 12 to 1400 LBS so be prepared. I disassembled the lift on my trailer and lifted the columns with a engine hoist. I pre positioned the columns and set them in place. I did all this by myself so if you have a helper it should go easier and faster. Followed the directions (that could use a re-write) the internet directions help a little more. Assembled the lift in about a day. Anchoring was the most time consuming (get a good hammer drill and it goes allot easier). Stopped at my local supply store and picked up 4 gal of #46 grade hyd fluid.(remember 4 gal or you'll be making 2 trips like I did) tank will hold about 3 gals. Wired the pump with #10/2 and 30 AMP breaker. Applied power and up she went. Worked as advertised. I ran the lift up a few times to bleed the air then I got one of my trucks and lifted it up to the ceiling. Did that a few times to bleed the air out, Presently I couldn't be happier. I have no complaints. Very pleased.

Has the features you should look for

    Posted by D P on 13th Jul 2014

W-9F just arrived.build looks good. Has single formed columns, nice big floor plates. The arm configuration is a plus, I like the single lock release feature. The freight co lost my oil drain &bent up the latch pin. The service has been great in helping me with what I need in dealing with the freight claim. As far as I can see this a very nice lift, and a decent co. to deal with. No regrets here.

W-9F installed in 8 Foot garage

Posted by Rob Pinkerton on 5th May 2014

I just finished the 1st week of use for my new 2 post lift from Derek Weaver. This has been one of the best investments in my home shop to date. I do have a low ceiling at 8 foot so I am a little limited on lifting height but was still able to lift the body off the chassis on a 2003 Silverado. I did the install solo and it took 14 hours using an engine hoist for the heavy lifting. Only issue I had was no info on how much oil is needed, I have 4 quarts in but it would take 1 or 2 more. Except for the oil, everything else was included and in great shape (didn't expect the oil to be included).

    Great Value, Great Customer Service

Posted by Waylon on 29th Apr 2014

This lift definitely is a good value. It has many more features over other lifts in this price range. 3HP motor, single point safety release, motor on the side of the post to name a few. Comes with all the adapters, other makes charge extra. The supersymetric arms are useful as well. The customer service of Derek Weaver was excellent. Personal communication, shipment notification, etc. They'll answer all your questions and not be annoyed as well. The only negative is that you may get some scratches due to shipping. Derek Weaver will give you the paint type at Home Depot you need to repair it, just ask. Very pleased overall, the lift functions great.

    Great Value

Posted by Sam Chambers on 4th Nov 2013

Weaver's customer service is tops. I received the lift in 3 days, TX to KY. The lift is well built and sturdy. The bottom column in the shipping configuration was badly marred from lift trucks. Weaver customer service gave me the color name and I purchased some locally that matched perfectly. What a joy it is to work on the cars using the lift. The instructions could use some clarification and clearer photos, but I found the information on the web sites instructions. Best value I found in more than six months of research. Thanks!!

    Uncommon value

Posted by Gary on 5th Aug 2013

First, the bad. It really suffered rough treatment in transit from Texas to Wisconsin. Deep gouges all over. Second, the good. Carol did a fine job in keeping me in the loop as my order progressed. Very pleasant and helpful on the phone. Finally, the best. What a fantastic piece for equipment for the $1,595.00 that I gave. I have coveted one of these for many years; especially with a 12' ceiling in my garage. It went up very easily, but I would offer one very simple addition to the installation manual. When putting the base anchors in the 3/4" holes (drill them as deep as you) keep the nut up as high as you can as you drive them down. You should not need to pummel them, so if you keep the nut flush with the top of the anchor, the threads will be fine. I found that when you tighten them, they really take a while before they expand. You want as much of the anchor in the ground as possible. In closing, I have already used this for three different cars. Replacing brake lines was so much more pleasant than on a creeper using jack stands. Needless to say, I have many new "friends". If you have the room, you have got to get one of these. I think that my neighbor will be calling you soon, Carol. Thanks very much for the great price, service and quality!!!

So far I love everything about this product. It does what I need it to do flawlessly. Much better then any other lift I have seen regardless of the cost. What a steal at $1600.00

Very happy with the lift. Shipping was fast (3 days to PA). Service was excellent thanks again. I also bought a tire changer and balancer from them and love it. When I shop for other shop equipment it will be with Derek Weaver Company.

Derek Weaver Company is proud to offer our high quality products with free shipping or warehouse pickup. Here's how it works...

PRODUCTS MARKED FREE SHIPPING

All Products on our website are offered with "Free Shipping". This means the freight charges are included in the price. Most of our products weighing less than 800-lbs. are offered with “Absolute Free Shipping” which means there are no extra fees. In this case you will notice the phrase “FREE SHIPPING! Includes Free Residential and Free Lift Gate Service!”, in the description of the products page. Absolute Free Shipping also means there are no additional fees for Liftgate Service or Residential Delivery. The only additional fee that you may incur would be if the address were changed during shipment which would incur a reconsignment fee by the freight carrier that we would only pass on if it were not our mistake.

For equipment over 800-lbs (most 2 & 4-Post lifts) there are some limitations for Free Shipping depending on weight and delivery location. In this case you will notice the phrase “Free Shipping To Over 85% of the USA - See Where It's Free” in the description of the products page. Most of the USA will require no additional fee. This applies to over 85% of the continental USA (lower 48 states). Free shipping does not apply to Alaska or Hawaii. Some parts of the country are affected by higher freight rates due to the combination of weight and delivery location which will require a small additional charge to cover the higher rate charged by the freight carriers. Our shopping cart will not calculate the difference (added fee), so we will contact you if this is the case. Rather than advertise the higher rates across the board we choose to show the lowest possible cost to most of the country. Like “Absolute Free Shipping” there will be no extra charge for lift gate or residential delivery. The following areas may have additional freight: North Western US, North Eastern US, Long Island, Western Colorado, the Dakotas, some parts of Florida & California and any area deemed a remote location by the freight company. Prior to ordering give us a call at 817-560-9510 or email and we can provide accurate information regarding Free Shipping or any additional charges.

FREIGHT CONSIDERATIONS

Shipping and delivery time given during the freight quote process is an estimated time of delivery given by the carrier. Choosing Liftgate Delivery may extend delivery times due to limited liftgate equipment at the delivering terminal. Meeting the delivery schedule is subject to the day the freight is shipped and the carrier’s ability to meet their schedule. Derek Weaver Co., Inc. does not guarantee that a carrier can meet their projected delivery time but we will provide you with the proper tracking information by email so you can follow the tracking time and arrange for special delivery needs with the carrier as needed. Any additional fees incurred as a result of consignee being unable to meet scheduled delivery time or cause for redelivery or reconsignment to a different location will be at consignee’s expense.

RESIDENTIAL DELIVERY:

Choosing Residential may extend the estimated delivery time due limited liftgate trucks at the delivering terminal, additional communication and handling by the freight company. Please keep this in mind when choosing residential delivery.

UNLOADING THE FREIGHT TRUCK:

Make sure you can unload the freight. A forklift or lifting equipment is required for items over 800-lbs. The trucking company is only responsible for delivery to your loading dock if delivered to a business address or curbside if a residential lift gate delivery. Lift gate service is available for some equipment and can assist in unloading 2 and 4-post lifts however you will still need a forklift. Liftgate capacity is typically 1000-lbs and cannot unload a 2 or 4-post lift on its own.

PICKUP AT YOUR LOCAL FREIGHT TERMINAL:

If you are unable to unload a truck, we have the option of letting you pick the freight up at the closest terminal to your location. When picking up at a terminal, the freight company will load your truck or trailer for you which is included in the freight cost. Call our office (1-817-560-9510) to determine the location of the closest terminal. If you require terminal pickup please place a note in the comment box requesting terminal pickup and we will contact you with the terminal location. Covered trailers or trailers with ramps are not acceptable as they prevent the forklift from getting the load into the trailer. They will not drive onto a ramped trailer. Please remove the ramps prior to picking up if possible.

All shipments must be inspected immediately upon receipt

IF AN ITEM HAS FREIGHT DAMAGE OR SCRATCHES

1) ACCEPTING AN ITEM WITH FREIGHT DAMAGE OR SCRATCHES.

Choose this option if you have minor dings and scratches or a part that needs replaced to make the unit satisfactory. Make note of the damage before you sign the freight bill. You will be responsible for filing the freight damage claim with the carrier. Derek Weaver Co, Inc. will provide any replacement parts or touch up paint needed should you choose this option and the carrier should provide for reimbursement. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please call our customer service department @ 1-817-560-9510

2) REFUSE THE DAMAGED ITEM.

Choose this option if the carrier has severely damaged the freight beyond your judgment of a simple repair. Derek Weaver Co, Inc. will file all freight claims. Get a copy of the freight bill from the truck driver and email it with a brief explanation of the situation to us. A replacement will be shipped as soon as we verify possession of the freight with the carrier.

SCHEDULING A WAREHOUSE PICKUP

If you would like to pick-up the item at one or our warehouses, please call ahead to make sure the item is in stock and schedule your pick-up. Picking up at our warehouse will save you in freight fees but will require sales tax to be collected. If you do not see a pickup price on our website for the product you are interested in you may call our office for more information.

In Texas we load Monday – Friday by appointment only.

In North Carolina we load Monday – Friday by appointment only.

All Two Post and Four Post Lifts require trailer for pickup. Be prepared for pick-up by understanding the item’s weight and dimensions and using the proper truck and/or trailer for hauling. We cannot load open or enclosed trailers with ramp gates. Our warehouse will load the item onto your vehicle and/or trailer but is not responsible for properly securing the load on your vehicle and you will need to make sure you have the proper straps and equipment for hauling. All items for local pick-up are charged state sales tax at the appropriate local rate. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please call our customer service department @ 1-817-560-9510
